Keum Soon Lee

Keum Soon Lee (이금순 Brigid), 78, of Queens, NY passed away on July 1, 2026, at North Shore University Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 12, 1947, on Jeju-si, Republic of Korea, she spent her formative years at Sacred Hearts and graduated from Sacred Hearts College in 1972 in English Literature. In 1979, she immigrated to the United States, where she built a life defined by perseverance, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to her family. As a business owner, she worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for her daughters, always placing their education, growth, and future above her own. Her determination, resilience, and quiet strength laid the foundation for generations to come. After retiring in 2012, she embraced a new chapter with the same enthusiasm that had always characterized her life. She discovered a remarkable gift for painting and calligraphy, becoming a prolific artist whose creativity reflected both beauty and joy. She found peace in tending her garden, delight in learning new skills, and fulfillment in exploring the world with endless curiosity. Whether studying a new language, practicing the piano, or learning to use new technology, she believed there was always something new to discover. Above all else, our mother cherished the people she loved. She was a devoted and proud mother, cherished grandmother, beloved sister, treasured friend, and faithful member of her church, artistic, and neighborhood communities. She welcomed others with warmth, generosity, and an infectious spirit. Her laughter filled every room, her encouragement lifted those around her, and her love was fierce, steadfast, and unconditional. She is survived by her daughters Grace 양미 (Savas), Caritas 경미 (Kanaly), Amie 애미 (Rob), and Mimie 미미 (Justin); grandchildren Emerson, Elinor, Eagan, Owen, and Bradley; two older brothers, Lee Jong-jin 이종진, Lee Ye-jin 이에진; Nieces and nephews: Lee Do-hyeok 이도혁, Lee Young-hee 이영희, Jin Seong-dae 진성대, Han Ki-ho 한기호, Han Ki-heung 한기흥, and Han Ki-sook 한기숙. Our mother will be remembered for her fierce love for her family and friends, her resilience and how she embraced life with wonder and an open heart. Her laughter and zest for life will remain a part of everyone who knew her. Family and friends may pay their respects at Roslyn Heights Funeral Home on Friday from 3-7PM.
